Salt Walk for life, love, truth
We, and all our world, face real threats from global climate change, the effects of "peak oil," and the violence to people and our environment. We must seek out the truth and refuse to believe we are powerless. We can and must act.
Truth and love moved Gandhi to oinspire the peoples of India to stand up against the oppression of the British Empire by the Salt Walk in 1930.
With this 2006 Salt Walk reenactment we challenge each other to seek the truth and take action. We have choices but time is of the essence. We invite our community to join us in this walk. Join Gandhi (Bernie Meyer), youth and adults from our community. We will end at the Port Plaza where we will symbolically express our commitment to seek the truth and work to save the earth.
On Saturday, September 9th, we will host the movie, the Making of the Mahatma, at 3:00 pm at the Olympia Film Society's capitol Theater on 5th St in Oly. Learn from Gandhi how to transform our lives to bring sustainability back to Olympia.
