Speakers Training on Publicly Financed Campaigns in WA!!

Do you want to learn about publicly financed campaigns? Do you want to help with the effort? Join us on a rainy Saturday afternoon to discuss how to make it happen in Washington! :)

Washington Public Campaigns will explain how public financing of political campaigns will reduce big money special interests' influence over the electoral process. The event is free and open to the public by prior registration.

WPC volunteer Bill Nerins will direct the session just like you would if you were speaking to a group for WPC. He will start with begin by showing the short video "Clean Elections: Changing the Face of America" narrated by journalist Bill Moyers.

Olympians for Peace in the Middle East potlucks welcome community members who want to work in solidarity with the people of the Middle East. This social event offers an opportunity for people to plug in to the emerging solidarity movement in Olympia during this time of dangerous misconceptions, war and occupation.

In the past month we helped plan the event Muslims of Thurston County Speak Out, attended by over 200 community members. We gathered signatures for a letter to The Olympian about anti-Muslim hate speech. A relpy has arrived! Please keep an eye on your Sunday paper to find out more about The Olympia on-line comment section and their current policy in publishing inflamatory language as we continue this crucial dialogue.
