For more than 12 years, National Book-Award-winning author Maxine Hong Kingston has led writing-and-meditation workshops for veterans and their families. This book is the harvest of their work together: creative, redemptive storytelling—nonfiction, fiction, and poetry—spanning five wars and written by those most profoundly affected by it. Reading their words, we witness worlds torn apart then rebuilt. This epic and timely work is the distilled wisdom of warriors, expressing themselves with breathtaking artistry and truth.
You can find out more about the book at vowvop.org.

Help enable folks in Olymia to speak to and hear directly from folks in our besieged unofficial Sister City, Rafah, Gaza Strip. We need everybody's help to help implement some of the great programs that we've planned and started. Please, there is no pressure to sign up for a boatload of tasks- we need participants to add their vote of confidence, help spread the word about our exciting work and lend advice from the artisian well of knowledge here in Oly.
We also need a Treasurer for our board of directors- we're a 501c3 corp. We have a bookeeper, so this isn't a check writing billpaying job, its supervising the implementation of our financial programs and requires attendance at 3 or 4 meeting per year and some contact with the bookkeper. International experience is a plus, and we guarantee you will gain more.
