WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?
A documentary that investigates the death and resurrection of the electric car

WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR is Chris Paine’s documentary that investigates the death and resurrection of the electric car, as well as the role of renewable energy and sustainable living in our country's future.

Volatile gasoline prices, fossil fuel shortages, and unrest in oil producing regions around the globe spurred mainstream consumer adoption of the hybrid electric car. But the all electric car was killed.

Learn the story of the electric car, its place in history, and the larger story of our car culture and how it enables our continuing addiction to foreign oil.

We, and all our world, face real threats from global climate change, the effects of "peak oil," and the violence to people and our environment. We must seek out the truth and refuse to believe we are powerless. We can and must act.

Truth and love moved Gandhi to oinspire the peoples of India to stand up against the oppression of the British Empire by the Salt Walk in 1930.

With this 2006 Salt Walk reenactment we challenge each other to seek the truth and take action. We have choices but time is of the essence. We invite our community to join us in this walk. Join Gandhi (Bernie Meyer), youth and adults from our community. We will end at the Port Plaza where we will symbolically express our commitment to seek the truth and work to save the earth.
