FAVELA RISING is an amazing and inspirational film full of miracles, hope, and fabulous music. This is a 100% factual documentary. Life in the favela is not always pretty, or suitable for the young children who live there. PLEASE COME: it's a profoundly moving film. The evening begins with a short performance by Grupo Sadio and ends with a performance by SambaOlywa's dancers and drummers. This is a fundraiser ($10) for South Sound Kids Drum & Dance and SambaOlywa.
